Early-stage companies splitting Ben Franklin Tech Partners funding

Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania said Wednesday it has provided $1.9 million to nine early-stage technology companies in its latest round of funding.

NeoForce Group Inc., an Ivyland, Pa., medical device company serving the neonatal and perinatal hospital market in the United States, received the largest funding, $300,000.

Three companies received $250,000 each:

• Aklero Process Solutions Inc., a King of Prussia, Pa., developer of software for mortgage lenders;
• Core Solutions Inc., a Wayne, Pa., developer of Web software for health and human services providers;
• And Valence Process Equipment LLC, a Malvern, Pa., developer of chemical vapor deposition equipment used to make light-emitting diodes.

Three companies received $200,000 apiece:

• YouChoose LLC of Thornton, Pa., provides an online environment that allows people to create and take part in campaigns that support common goals and causes.
• Orbos Corp. of Newtown Square, Pa., which is developing a platform that would allow companies to create Web sites that encourage communications among their customers, and enable associations, clubs and nonprofits to create online communities for more efficient interaction among their members and the public.
• PChemAssociates Inc., a Bensalem, Pa., company that has developed a process for making silver nanoparticles that can be used to make highly conductive circuits.

Sensor Biomed Corp. of Merion Station, Pa., received $150,000. It is developing medical devices for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic vascular diseases.

GlobalPrint Systems Inc., which is relocating to Pennsylvania from New Jersey, received $100,000. It allows commuters with portable computers, personal digital assistants and other devices to connect to or e-mail a document to its system and have the document printed out in unmanned kiosks it maintains in airports, convention centers and hotels.
